Why did man drown in floods in Hull with police divers on hand?
A Man drowned in the floods at Hull (yesterday) while police divers were on hand trying to free his leg that was caught in a drain.
Clearly the police did everything they could, but he still drowned, one presumes that they could have (or perhaps,did) fit an oxygen mask and tank to him whilst they were trying to free him (according to reports his head was initially at least, above the water).
I am not being critical, just at a loss as to why he did not survive? Surely in theory at least, they could have kept replenishing the oxygen tanks until he was free, or am I missing something here?
He didn't drown, he died of hypothermia! Apparently his leg was stuck in two different places. he was there 4 more than 3 hrs.... in freezing waters.
